We collect information you provide directly to us, such as when you create an account, place an order, or contact customer service. This includes:

  • Account Information: Your name, email address, and password.
  • Order Information: Shipping address, billing address, and payment information (processed by a third-party payment processor).
  • Child's Information: The first name and photograph of your child, which you provide for the sole purpose of creating your personalized book.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Fulfill your orders and provide the services you request.
  • Communicate with you about your orders and provide customer support.
  • Comply with legal obligations, including our obligations under the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA).

3. Children's Online Privacy Protection (COPPA)

Excelsiorify is committed to protecting the privacy of children. Our website is intended for and directed to adults (parents and guardians) who are purchasing a product for a child. We do not knowingly market to or solicit information from children under the age of 18.

In compliance with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), we have implemented the following policies and procedures regarding the personal information of children under the age of 13:

  • Age Verification:We use a neutral age-gate to verify that all users who create an account or purchase a product are adults over the age of 18. We do not allow individuals who identify as being under 18 to use our service.
  • Collection of a Child's Photo and Name:The only personal information we collect that may belong to a child is the first name and photograph provided by the parent for the sole purpose of creating the personalized storybook. Under COPPA, a child's photo is considered personal information.
  • Verifiable Parental Consent (VPC):We do not collect a child's photo or name until after the adult user has passed our age-gate and has explicitly affirmed that they are the parent or legal guardian of the child and consented to the collection of this information. This consent is obtained via a clear, affirmative checkbox immediately prior to the photo upload process.
  • Use, Storage, and Deletion of Information:A child's first name is used only to personalize the text of the book. A child's photograph is used only to generate the AI-based illustrations for the book. This information is used for no other purpose. It is never sold, rented, shared, or used for marketing, advertising, or AI model training. The photograph is temporarily stored in our secure, encrypted systems during the production and shipping of your order. We retain the photo for a period of 30 days following the confirmed delivery of your order to allow for reprints in case of shipping damage or loss. After this 30-day retention period, the photograph and any associated AI models are permanently and irrevocably deleted from our systems.
  • Parental Rights:As a parent, you have the right to: Review the personal information we have collected from your child. Request that we delete this information at any time. Refuse to permit further collection or use of your child's information. To exercise any of these rights, please contact us directly at privacy@excelsiorify.com. Please note that a request to delete the photo during the production or shipping phase will prevent us from being able to offer a reprint if the original is lost or damaged.
